My Life in Australia: Sweet Days, Soft Moments and People I Won’t Forget🥰

Living in Australia has become one of the most special chapters of my life. It isn’t always dramatic or exciting, but it is filled with gentle little moments that make each day feel warm and meaningful.

One of the things that brings me the most comfort is the place where I live. My landlord, Maureen, isn’t a homestay host in the official sense, but she treats me with so much kindness that I always feel supported. She listens to me, gives me advice, and sometimes simply sits with me and chats like a friend. Living alone in a foreign country can be lonely, but having someone like her makes everything feel less difficult and much warmer. Because of my connection with Maureen, I have also experienced many special moments in my neighbourhood. Sometimes, when our neighbour is busy, they ask Maureen and me to help walk their dog, Daisy. Daisy is not my dog, but every time I take her out, it feels like a small piece of comfort. The fresh ocean breeze, the quiet beach and the sound of waves help me slow down and breathe. Those peaceful walks with Daisy made me fall in love with the simple beauty of the Gold Coast.

Of course, my life here is not only about quiet routines. I have also made amazing memories with friends, like visiting Sea World together, watching dolphins jump through the blue sky, or laughing on the bus even when we were soaked from the rain.

On other days, I treat myself to hot pot alone, a small reward that has become one of my favourite little rituals. Whether I am with friends or spending time by myself, each moment adds something real and meaningful to my journey.

But the sweetest part of this experience has been the friendships I built. I became very close to many Japanese friends. We studied together, explored the city, supported each other and shared so many small pieces of daily life. When they returned to Japan, I felt truly sad. It felt like a familiar part of my routine suddenly disappeared. Even though it hurt, I am grateful. Before coming to Australia, I never imagined I would become so close to people from another country, with different languages and different backgrounds. These friendships opened my heart and showed me how precious international connections can be. I did not just make friends, I made memories that will stay with me for many years.

Living in Australia taught me that the most beautiful moments often arrive quietly, through people, through small routines and through unexpected connections. These sweet days will always remain a part of my story.💐
