Arriving in Australia for the first time felt both exciting and a little unreal.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My journey began at Melbourne Airport, where I landed before transferring to the Gold Coast. I still remember the huge \u201cMELBOURNE\u201d sign glowing behind me. In that moment, I realised my new life had officially begun.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I finally arrived on the Gold Coast, it was raining. I waited at the pickup area for the car I had booked in advance. Everything felt new to me, from the air and the signs to the quiet atmosphere of the airport. I was tired, but also strangely calm, as if I were ready to begin this chapter of my life.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I reached my accommodation, the lovely Australian landlady who rented the room to me welcomed me with a warm cup of chai tea and a slice of homemade fruit cake. It was a simple gesture, but it made me feel safe in a foreign place.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later that day, I went shopping for the first time in an Australian grocery store. I almost fainted when I saw that an umbrella cost thirty-five dollars. I even took a photo of the receipt to complain to my friends back home.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
